Super Soph

ATLANTA, Ga. -- It was another loaded event at this year's Super Sophomore Camp in Atlanta, GA. Event host Clay Dade did a great job gathering talent from all over the country for his annual event. We really enjoyed getting to see some of the nation's best rising sophomores and getting a jump on the class as a whole heading into July.

As follows are some of the top class of 2019 performers we saw throughout the camp (in no particular order):

Christian Brown - 6'7 W - AC Flora (SC)/GA Stars
Christian was absolutely the best overall player at the camp. He was very efficient and showed off his full offensive skillset. This long wing is a freak athlete that can score from all 3 levels while also being a great team player and a high level defender. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up as Top 10 in the country when its all said and done.

Josh Nickleberry - 6'4 G - Northwood Temple (NC)
He was one of the most aggressive guards at the camp, he made plays on both ends of the floor all weekend long, and is an elite shooter with range. Josh is the type of kid you just give the ball to and let him roll with your offense.

Bruce Guy - 6'5 F - Houston (TN)/Team Thad
This athletic lefty brought a ton of energy to every game he played in while also showing off his all-around game. He played great defense, rebounded outside of his area, and showed the ability to score. Once he gets his 3 ball with consistency, watch out. He finished 3rd overall in scoring and 5th overall in rebounds while leading the camp in offensive rebounds.

Blake Hinson - 6'7 F - Deltona (FL)/Showtime Ballers
Blake is an absolute grown man on the court. This big bodied guard showed the ability to score from all over while also bullying his defender off the dribble. He is a very capable 3 point shooter but was at his best when going to the basket. It was clear to all in attendance that he was extremely tough and it showed on the glass.

Armando Bacot Jr. - 6'8 PF - Trinity (VA)/Team Loaded VA
He was undoubted one of the best big men in attendance at this event. His offensive game is already quite developed and showed an advanced game in the post. He can finish over both shoulders, use his body to create space, and can step out and hit the mid-range jumpshot. The big fella has a great motor and is an absolute beast at times.

Wendell Moore - 6'4 G/F - Cox Mill (NC)/Team CP3
He is a great athlete with a body beyond his years. This guard can get to the basket anytime he wants, along with the ability to post up smaller defenders. He is an elite rebounder as a perimeter player. He is the absolute total package and projects as a very special player down the road.

Qudus Wahab - 6'10 C - Virginia Academy (VA)/Uncommon Bulls
This kid is a high motor center with developing offensive skills. His ability to block shots is the first thing you notice on the court, as he blocks a ton of shots and alters more, and he can totally change the game on the defensive end. He has the ability to step out and hit jumpers with range to 3 and also runs the floor extremely well. Major potential and upside as a prospect.

Patrick McCaffery - 6'5 G - Iowa City West (IA)/Iowa Barnstormers
The son of Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery is a highly skilled scoring wing. He can put on the deck and score while also being an elite shooter from anywhere on the court. His instincts as a player are very high and makes the game easier for those around him.

Tyreek Smith - 6'7 F - API (TX)
Tyreek is a high level athlete with good length. He might've had the best motor in the camp. His offensive game is developing still, but this kids potential was evident throughout the weekend and is already a heck of a player. In our eyes he was a definite high level player out of Texas and one to watch going forward.

Francis Okoro - 6'9 PF - Normal City West (IL)/St. Louis Eagles
Francis has been very good this offseason, playing a huge role on a loaded St. Louis Eagles 16U team featuring some of the top talent in the midwest. He runs the floor and plays with a high motor while using his physical traits to get dirty in the paint. His rebounding is his best skill along with the ability to finish in the paint. He has already come a long way with his development and will only continue to get better.

Justin Moore - 6'3 - DeMatha (MD)/Team Takeover
This big guard absolutely has game and showed the ability to play on or off the ball. He makes plays off the bounce, can knock down 3s, and has the DMV toughness that seems to come from most players in the area.

Jaden Frazier - 6'9 PF - Blue Ridge (VA)/Team Loaded VA
He is a skilled low post scorer and it showed as he displayed an advanced offensive game in the post while being comfortable as any kid his age in the post. Jaden rebounds the ball very well and we like his upside as a player to watch out of Virginia.

Anthony Harris - 6'3 G - Paul VI(VA)
Shifty guard with tight handles and great vision is the best way to describe him. Seemed to be able to score at will, but instead showed his unselfishness by setting up teammates for easy plays. He is a high level shooter and has good range on his shot.

Bryce Cook - 5'6 PG - South Grand Prarie (TX)
Small but super quick and very crafty lead guard. He has the ability to create offense and make things happen for those around him. He is no slouch from 3, and showed the ability to bust a jumper if too must space was left. As evidence he was an elite shooter, he shot 14-22 from 3 during camp.

Ashton Hagans - 6'2 PG - Newton (GA)/GA Stars
At times, Ashton was dominate with his ability to penetrate the paint at will. He is an elite level point guard and, coming off of offers to schools like Florida State, Oklahoma State, Florida, and Tennessee among others, was one of the most highly regarded players in attendance. This lead guard's athleticism was on display as he had the best play of camp on a huge 1 hand dunk down the lane. He's getting love as potentially the best point guard in his class and it showed at this event.

Michael Moreno - 6'6 G/F - Scott County (KY)/Indiana Elite
Moreno was another impressive wing who stood out throughout the weekend. At 6'6 he is the ultimate mismatch on the offensive end, as he can score from the perimeter as a great shooter (17-29 from 3 for the event) and shows the ability to score in the paint or on the blook. The fast-developing guard is a skilled passer and is developing his handle quickly.

DJ Burns - 6'9 PF/C - York Prep (SC)/GA Stars
Word got out on Sunday that DJ Burns had picked up an offer from Georgia, his first high major offer, and his full game was on display this weekend. The lefty big fella has incredibly soft touch and is very skilled in both the high and low post. He can absolutely dominate the game with his size and we think he's got a ton of potential as he continues to develop his body and get older.

Terry Armstrong - 6'5 G - Carman-Ainsworth (MI)/Greenwood Elite
Terry was easily one of the most athletic kids in the camp and showcased that along with his explosiveness on the wing. He can score in a variety of ways, including a good mid-range game and the ability to dominate in transition. His upside is huge and going forward will be in consideration as one of the best wings in the country.

Jalen Mason - 6'2 G - Miller Grove (GA)/GA Stars
This combo guard showed a great handle and the ability to knock down open shots. His ability to create for others along with himself was clear and he was one of our favorite players this AAU season.

Chase Hunter - 6'3 G - Westlake (GA)/GA Stars
Good shooter that can also put it on the deck and get to the basket. He is very aggressive offensively and a good athlete who finished in traffic. His scoring ability was on display and is going to be very good player down the road.

Ador Athuai - 6'11 C - FL
Very long shot blocker with a solid post game. His motor is very good as well. Physically, he needs to develop his body and bulk up as he gets older. He was one of the best big men in attendance and blocked a ton of shots no matter who he was playing against.

Justin McKoy - 6'6 - Panther Creek (NC)/Team CP3
Perhaps the most versatile prospect in attendance, he can truly do it all. On the offensive end he can shoot, take defenders off the dribble, and post up as well. Defensively he showed the ability to guard multiple positions including guards and bigs. We love his upside as an all around player.

Luke Anderson - 6'7 - Lakeland (FL)
Skilled forward that can knock down shots from all over. He has a high IQ and the ability to knock down shots on the wing. His ability as a versatile offensive player that can play inside or out will be vital going forward. Luke has a ton of upside.

Oscar Tseibwa - 6'10 C - Mountain Mission (VA)/Team Loaded VA
Oscar has been on our radar since late April when he ran with the 16U WV Wildcats and was one of their best players during the live periods. He is a wide bodied post that is an absolute monster in the paint. Oscar dunks everything he can and has great hands. He is the ideal big man to play along a good point guard and also has a knack for getting boards. He has tons of potential and could be the next high level kid out of Mountain Mission School.

Joseph Girard III - 6'0 - Glenn Falls (NY)
A super crafty guard, he showed very high basketball IQ. He is dynamic offensive with his ability to shoot the lights out and create for teammates off the bounce. The ball looks like its on a string when its on his hands and his ability as a floor general was obvious as he ran his team throughout the weekend.

Marcus Watson - 6'5 G - West Forsythe (NC)
This guard has a great frame and physically has all the tools. He stayed in attack mode throughout camp and seems to always make the right read. Contact never seemed to bother Marcus and he finished at the rim consistently. He was a tough on-ball defender in the camp setting.

Demarr McRae - 6'1 - John Marshall (VA)/Team Loaded VA
A tough guard that showed no fear with the ball in his hands. Demarr can score in bunches with his ability to score at all 3 levels. He gives a ton of effort defensively and will be a good player as time goes on.

JJ Weaver - 6'6 F - Louisville Moore (KY)/Hoop Dreams
Very good athlete that showed his skills via his toughness and strength against other players. He is very good defensively and his motor earned him a spot in the top 40 all star game. We like his upside offensively and think he has a chance to be a very good player on the court as time goes on.

Korbin Spencer - 6'1 - Elliot County (KY)
One of the more poised guards in attendence, Korbin rarely got rushed and found his open teammates. His mid-range game is great and his pull-up is on point. He is a great decision maker when he gets pass the defender and the defense collapses.
